Mental Health Care for Veterans & Military

Book an Appointment

Individuals who currently serve, or have served, in the military or law enforcement face a heightened risk of developing mental health challenges such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Depression, Anxiety Disorders, and Substance Use Disorders (including alcohol and opioid dependence). Suicide rates among veterans are about 1.5 times higher than the general population, and far too many who could benefit from treatment never receive the support they need.

It’s important to remember that the sacrifices of service members and law enforcement officers don’t end when active duty or combat is over. Many continue to experience the long-term effects of trauma and stress even after transitioning back into civilian life, making access to specialized care essential.

FAQs

What is the best therapy for veterans?

The most effective therapy depends on each veteran’s needs, but evidence-based treatments for service-related trauma include EMDR, exposure therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). These approaches help reduce PTSD symptoms, manage anxiety and depression, and improve overall quality of life. At Fine Tune Psychiatry, we match veterans with therapists trained in these methods, including trauma-focused care available online and in person.

Can I use Fine Tune Psychiatry with military insurance like USAA or TRICARE?

Yes. Fine Tune Psychiatry accepts many private and military-related insurance plans, including TRICARE and USAA-affiliated policies. Coverage varies by plan, so our team will verify your benefits and explain any out-of-pocket costs before you begin care. This allows service members, veterans, and their families to access specialized treatment without unnecessary financial stress.
