Megan Walsh Ossont is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with 13 years of experience caring for adults across a range of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, consultation-liaison, long-term care, and emergency psychiatry. She trained at the Penn Center for Women’s Behavioral Wellness and Pennsylvania Hospital’s Crisis Response Center, and has since provided care within academic medicine, long-term care, and the correctional system.
Megan takes a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care, working together with individuals to improve psychiatric symptoms and overall wellness. She has completed and continues to pursue coursework through the Institute for Functional Medicine. With a holistic perspective, she strives to identify and address the root causes of symptoms, recognizing that mental health is influenced by many factors.
Megan provides psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and supportive therapy services to adult patients. Megan has experience treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, and others.
Megan holds an appointment as an Assistant Professor at the University of Scranton, contributing to the education and mentorship of future nurses and psychiatric nurse practitioners. Her previous academic roles include faculty positions at Drexel University and Bloomsburg University.
