Jeffrey Kerr, D.O.

Dr. Jeffrey Kerr is an outpatient psychiatrist board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBPN). His integrative approach to psychiatry focuses on evidence-based psychiatry that is uniquely suited to the individual patient and their story within our collective community.

Professional Background:

Dr. Kerr completed his psychiatry residency at Community Memorial Health System in Ventura, California, where he served as Chief Resident in Outpatient Psychiatry. He earned his medical degree from the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific Northwest. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an Emphasis in Neuroscience from the University of Puget Sound. He maintains academic pursuits through medical education, grand rounds presentations, invited lectures, covering topics of moral injury, physician mental health, the nuances of psychopharmacology, and the impact of emerging technologies on our mental health.

Dr. Kerr’s professional memberships include:

American Psychiatric Association, World Psychiatry Congress, American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, American Osteopathic Association, and the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Dr. Kerr’s training has provided him with an integrative approach to psychiatry, drawing on experience in psychosocial rehabilitation for treatment-resistant illnesses, including severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders, with additional expertise in nutrition, exercise science, cross-cultural psychiatry, and multimodal psychotherapy.
